After two fatal aircraft crashes in June this year another plane with 168 passengers and crew on board crashed today (July 15) in the north of Iran, about 75 miles (120km) north-west of Tehran.
A Caspian Airlines plane was flying from the Iranian capital to Yerevan in Armenia. Among passengers were mainly Armenians and Georgians, all are feared dead.
The Iranian television showed a massive crater in a field where the aircraft crashed.

The crash plane was Russian Tupolev aircraft that was built in 1987.
The Caspian Airlines operates four Tupolev 154 aircrafts that are considered to be in a poor technical condition.
