Have you ever seen whales in the sky? If not, here they come…
Photography does not have to be always serious and actual. I like when it actually balances at the edge of reality and imagination. A great and fun picture can be taken anywhere and anytime, all you need is a good moment, a bit of creativity and a good-eye...as you can see below.
Here is a funky set of “whales in the sky”, created thanks to the flickr’s photographers.
Pigeon Point Lighthouse
above is one of the tallest lighthouses in America: it has115-foot (35 m). It was bulit in 1871 to guide ships on the Pacific coast of California.
The picture was taken in Byron Bay, Australia...where the ocean is full of happy surfers and the sky from time to time is visted by happy whales.
The milions of starlings were seen in Gretna Green Scotland. The similar phenomenon can be seen in Denmark where it is called
Black Sun
. It can be experienced in spring and autumn, when enormous flocks of black starlings, sometimes hundreds of thousands, create fascinating patterns in the sky, virtually blocking out the sun.
As the author of the picture explains "the galaxy pair NGC 4631 (the Whale) and NGC 4656 (the Hockey Stick) lie in the small constellation of Canes Venatici, and are believed to be gravitationally bound."
