Kenya OVERVIEW
Bounce the word 'Kenya' off people and what you get is a rather limited number of free associations: a family of lions lolling in the shade of a baobab, brick-red safari routes, oppressive heat, grim Maasai men holding upright spears, their wives' elaborate body adornment, and children frolicking around, posing to pictures or chasing goats. That's indeed Kenya you are bound to see. That's is fact Kenya you

to see. Good for you! The lower you keep your expectations, the bigger the surprise.
A trip to this thirsty land is virtually always a ticket for a most stirring spectacle of nature, a startling multi-voice performance in the open air, and a primeval game of instincts all in one, with a well thought out stage design of a fertile sun-drenched savanna, high-altitude hills of the Great Rift Valley, torrential rivers, spectacular waterfalls, and life-giving Lake Victoria. Witness the stunning migration of zebras in Masai Mara reserve, spend a quality time backpacking in the Cherangani Hills. Feel the ground trembling under your feet as a herd of elephants is marching in the close distance, and after a blood-curdling 4x4 ride through the golden plains, have a refreshing shower in the pastoral Ol Donyo Wuas Lodge with snow-capped Kilimanjaro rising unbelievably high in the background.
Finally, there's the chromatic dissonance of Mombasa, a mix of crystal-clear beaches, the whiteness of the Old Town and gloomy greyness of the city center. There's cosmopolitan Nairobi, fondly known as "The Green City in the Sun", perhaps the only place in the whole wide world where you can see a footloose giraffe with a city's towering skyline as a backdrop.
