Though it looks like one of the latest trendy fashion accessories, it is actually a very practical portable water purifier. Perfect for those traveling in the tropics, where access to hygienic drinkable water may often be limited.
AquaIris enables people to drink safe water irrespective of energy sources or infrastructure. The purifier neutralizes bacteria and viruses thanks to the UVC rays that hit every water molecule that flows by a layer of converter crystals.
The designer, Talia Radford, calls a lanyard attached to the devices a link between the user and the purifier. The lanyard is covered with symbols that display the instruction of use, and it also has re-usable filters attached.
The device has a special slot for a removable filter to be inserted before use.
